Standard chartered focus on Asia when economic recovery

Profits totalled $2.838bn (£1.7bn) in the first six months of the year, compared with $2.586bn of a profits year earlier. The board firmly believes that the economic downturn will be shorter and less pronounced in these markets, which it expects to return to growth far quicker than more developed markets.
